Aging Abnormal

With age comes a degree of wisdom from processing and integrating experiences. Because of my lifestyle choices, I have had many diverse experiences, and I have had many friends of different ages.

Being childless has rendered this necessary.

Most of my older friends, in fact all of my older friends, have had children. Most of my younger friends are married. Or in relationships, or expecting children, or being young.

I’m in a place where I fit in many places and am blessed to know such diverse groups of people. I’m watching a movie, While We’re Young, and whilst it is entertaining, it resonates on a deeper level with me.

Being displaced in middle age is a temporary affliction but you do question if you are where you are meant to be, living the life you want to live, rather than the life you need to live.

Finding that balance between responsibility and striving for dreams is not always easy or comfortable.

Is it ever okay in middle age (yikes! When did that happen) to quit your job and live on the fringe …

And does anyone have a spare teepee? And rainforest?
